I prefer The Move's version of "Do Ya" to ELO's
but it's still not among their best songs or even among their best singles. I mean, just from the same era, you've got "Tonight" and "Chinatown" which are both significantly better and more interesting than "Do Ya" IMO (and several earlier singles that are better as well).
I've come to appreciate how "Abbey Road" ends with "Her Majesty" because it lets some of the air out of the bumper sticker wisdom of "The End" but I'm gonna assume your comment about it being Paul's best song was an attempt at a joke.
