The most I heard about this is that the Roseanne character was supposed to be a Trump supporter, and they that they incorporated dinner table conversations where she sparred with Jackie on the pros and cons thereof.
This brings two things to my mind:
One, is that I wonder if the show had the balls to loop in the real reasons why people like the Connors support Trump (for example, did they have an episode where she calls the cops on black people at Starbucks?) or did they just run with the total lie that lower-middle class whites from the midwest voted for Trump primarily for economic reasons? I'm guessing just the latter, but I didn't watch the show
Two, is that the idea of a Trump presidency being legitimized in this manner makes me think back to the time when I drive x-country and was in Montana. The theme on a local talk radio show was "whether or not the Jews are evil." The host said that he was going to be totally fair about this and have people from both sides of the argument represented.
