The Miserere can be really long and repetitive but the King's College version is somewhat shorter (and still repetitive). The English text really does make it a more engrossing listen than the Latin, of which I have one recording of (have yet to digitize it). The declamatory/monodic/recitative?/plainchant? sections (you know the ones I'm talking about -- it's half of the work) can be deathly boring with their lack of melodic variety and its sheer length and repetition, but it actually means something in the English.
You have the weirdest taste in music. (Have only listened to the Ceremony of Carol's twice, once under Britten and this recording here. Didn't realize anybody paid attention to the LP lists!)
