I saw it at Cannes!
It's...pretty good! Kinda embarrassingly male gaze-y at points and definitely overlong, but there are some very memorable, funny scenes and the score and cinematography are both pretty fantastic. The story isn't exactly original (could be described as "Lynch Meets Pynchon, But For Millennials!"), but its series of absurd conspiracies and dead ends is pretty amusing in the end. A24 delayed the release by six months to give Mitchell a chance to re-edit, and I think that was the right move. There's definitely a good movie in there somewhere, he just needs to learn how to restrain himself.
