Hawaii Department of Agriculture Brings Coffee Bill Back to Voting Table
CoffeeNetwork (New York) – The Hawaiian Department of Agriculture has reintroduced Senate Bill 869, which requires that the department of agriculture inspect and certify all Hawaii-grown green coffee beans for grade and origin, except for shipments of one hundred pounds or less.
The bill cleared the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Environment on Friday. The Bill will be passed on to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection and Health for a vote. A hearing date has not yet been set.
