Two male line descendants of Arthur Owen (1756-1823), shipwright of Topsham, who went to Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1790 have been Y-DNA tested. Their results (G-L177) match each other and are distinctly different from most other participants in the Owen DNA Project (Group 28 at http://www.hprg.com/owen/files/testresowen.htm). I believe the Owen family of Topsham came from Exeter where they appear to be listed as Oyne(s) in various 17th century parish records (see http://ourmaritimeties.com/tng/pedigree.php?personID=I9305&tree=Arthur&display=standard&generations=4 for ancestors of the above Arthur Owen). I am looking for any male line descendant of other lines of this Owen/Oyne(s) family, especially if descended from another son of either John Oynes of St Mary Steps, Exeter or Thomas Owen/Oynes, the glover, of Exeter. Thanks, Arthur Owen
Arthur Owen married to Martha Andrews I believe to be my 5th Great grandfather, his son John being my 4th gt grandfather. Is this of interest? Angela Veysey prev Owen
