The arrival of beat groups in 1963 put an end to it, and from 'Foot Tapper' by The Shadows in '63 there would be no further instrumental No.1 in the UK for FIVE years until Hugo Montenegro's orchestra broke the spell in 1968 with the theme from 'The Good The Bad and the Ugly'.
