That's only the first section. The majority of the book is him describing various pop culture ephermera of middle America like summer camps and cheap hotels. It's one of the funniest satires of Americana out there. It's not plot driven at all if that's what you were after. But I can't imagine any prose more enjoyable than Nabokov's. There is a pun or some sort of joke in virtually every other sentence.
