1)Hasn't he trashed "We Didn't Start The Fire" himself quite a few times by now? Does he still perform it, anyway? I know there's a video out there where he talks about how simplistic the melody is, playing it one-finger on the piano.
2)I didn't know he opened for Yes, but 1974 is the cutoff date for more people than you'd think anyway. Not everyone is willing to defend Going For The One or Drama like the WRC/Babble/Only Solitaire crowd.
3)I did know Axl loved Billy Joel and knew about this one, yes.
4)Didn't know about his dad at all. That's interesting.
5)Eeeewwww....has there EVER been a good attempt to cover "Kashmir" anyway?
6)Elton did indeed put out too many albums....he lacks a masterpiece in his 70s catalogue because he cranked out like two albums every year in his glory days, and nobody cares about his 80s/90s albums. And Billy's discography back in the day was hardly sparse.
