Re: What's spinning?
I didn't even know that book *had* a section about Phish before I bought it, but I was very pleased to discover that it did. It's probably the most succinct summary of Phish's appeal and their place in the rock music landscape I've ever read. Of all the chapters in the book I wished that chapter was a standalone article online that I could send to people when they ask me what the deal with Phish is. It's so hard to sum them up, and that chapter gives a better Phish 101 than I've found even from some actual books about Phish.
I was definitely one of the people who hated them before i heard a single song. Because back in my teenage days I usually parroted basic rock canon stuff and WRC-approved opinions. And Phish were just not a part of that conversation at all really so I just brushed them off as probably sucking because George didn't write about them. But then I actually heard Phish and *immediately* loved them with no hesitation whatsoever.
Thanks for the vibes dude. And I'm glad you're doing better too.
