partly because there are some new jokes and altered things which are fun. But more so because it's so much easier to follow the order that things happen in, and that highlights a lot of jokes that totally slip by in the original cut since the setups and punchlines are often separated by multiple episodes.
The problem with the remix is that they edited it for TV syndication, which causes several episodes to be loaded with even more recap and narration since they had to fill extra time to get 22 20 minute episodes. Also because some notable scenes weren't shot for this format originally means that for the sake of coherence some episodes still have to spend time following one character and then doubling back to follow the next character (though there's still far less of that than the original cut).
I dont think any of these problems outright wreck the show or anything though. there are long stretches of episodes where the alternate cut totally works out great if not better than the original cut in some ways, the pacing is a lot snappier for sure. and like I already said different jokes are highlighted in this version. Which changes the feel of the season a lot.
even though I'd say it's inferior overall, I could easily see someone preferring the remix, especially if the thing that turned you off about s4 was the wacky structuring.
