It's extremely well crafted and the concert footage is more extensive than any I've seen (colorized too, not badly either). There was no precedent for this sort of fame outside (a handful) of national leaders. The infrastructure wasn't there to support it. Music couldn't sufficiently amplified in a stadium, crowds of that size couldn't be controlled from town to town (especially when most of the crowd consists of teenage girls). Elvis wasn't this popular worldwide and he didn't tour that much in his prime anyway. The Beatles presented themselves as a collective (as opposed to a front man with a backing band which was the norm). Four witty friends who couldn't be caught off guard by anyone. Sort of a traveling pop music version of the Algonquin Round Table.
