I just looked up the new release of the WB album. First impressions: It's early Residents thats for sure. I hadn't been familiar with the previous bootlegs and stuff of it so I have no idea how this compares. It's got a number of amusing moments though. It's just as abrasive and unpleasant as you would expect though.
I am imagining the people at Warner Bros listening to this and wondering what kind of sick joke they were victims of, and that's pretty funny.
A bunch of these songs are dissonant but very silly covers. Not really thematically deep covers like Third Reich And Roll consisted of, but you can see where that started which is neat. A bunch of these tracks seem like experiments in making the most unpleasant noises possible.
