One point that should be made in George's defense is that we had lots of posters and the board moved really fast. You could drop in for an hour and have a real time discussion with a group of people who would read your response as soon as you posted it and then respond right away. That board had multiple pages so if you were just posting lots of inane junk that nobody thought was funny you could end up pushing an active discussion off the front page. So there was some actual support for George's policies partially because of that. You could make joke posts but if you were just annoying people and pushing stuff off the board in the process people would want you banned/your posts deleted.
