I've grown sick of piecing together clues to solve mysteries ever since I outgrew Donnie Darko and read all those crazy arguments about the Sopranos ending, and I'm a much saner man for it!! Mulholland Dr. is worth piecing together though.
You're right about the show never intending to get over Laura Palmer. Hey, that was why FWWM existed after all--that was supposed to be the big goodbye to Laura!
But now we have an ending that tries to erase the main tragedy in the series, the main event, and just makes things worse. Hey, Lost tried the same thing (its fifth season was about the characters travelling back in time to prevent the main plane crash from ever happening.)
I love the dead guy in "Carrie Page"'s apartment. I hope that just sort of never gets solved.
