At the time, BUFFY and ANGEL were the closest thing to comic books that any live-action movie or TV project ever got.
I grew up deeply into Marvel comics. Comics to me are things that you follow every month and that have big, sprawling storylines that last years. Comics are Superheroes + Soap Operas.
A new Batman movie every three years doesn't even come close to replicating that.
BUFFY and ANGEL did. And I still have fond memories of binging it via pre-streaming, Netflix-rented DVDs circa 2006.
