The Liz Phair s/t is the kind of thing I often love (basically, a "sellout" album by a non-mainstream artist), but in this case I just don't. The problem isn't the production, or the lyrics - it's that the musical elements just aren't as interesting as they are on her best work. But that's a trend that carries over from the two preceding albums to some extent. That said, I like "It's Sweet" and "Friend of Mine" a lot.
Tango In The Night isn't horrible, but it's not very good. "Everywhere" and "You and I" are the only songs I especially like. Which McVie singles do you hate? I'd put her as the band's best writer, probably.
