I absolutely adore Ravel's Concerto In G. It's an absolutely sublime little piece. If you make up your mind on why you think it's problematic, I'd love to read your thoughts.
My advice would be not to waste any of your precious time on post-Gurrelieder Schoenberg, but what do I know.
I really like Paul McCartney's new album and think it's the best thing he's done since the first Firemen album and infinitely better than any of his last five or six solo albums. I've also been revisiting some of his past albums, and, like you, I think Wild Life and McCartney II are some of his best (if not the best). Can't stand arena rock Wings, though. Now that is some music that sounds so hopelessly dated and overblown I cringe every time I try to listen to it.
