This sounds like something Commander Data would say after he got his emotion chip. But congratulations.
I probably agree about Beach Boys being a top tier band, they're one of a few which have a ton of hits everyone has heard, but tons of deep cuts and obscure gems as well.
I never quite got the fuss about Sunflower though. It's okay but my pick for most underappreciated post-Pet Sounds records go to Friends and Holland.
I have mixed feelings about Smile these days. I kind of think the best and most sensible option would've been to have put out something part way between Smile and Smiley Smile.
By my count there are at least eight fully finished and fleshed out Smile tracks, and you could throw in maybe one or two others as instrumentals. All they needed to do was knock out a few more tracks to fill out the tracklisting and there's your album. As long as I live I'll never understand why they didn't do that.
Van Dyke Parks showed up as a lawyer in an episode of Twin Peaks I saw the other day.
