And, uhm, I've lost track of how many times the series has tried to remind you of the original movie. There's been a sequel that took place on the same night as the original film, a "return of Michael Myers" movie, a 20th anniversary film that brought back Jamie Lee Curits, a sequel to that film that killed her, a remake of the original film, and now this new thingy.
And, oh yeah, Halloween to begin with is one of the most ripped-off and negatively influential films ever made.
Carpenter has avoided helping out with the franchise since 1981...he doesn't care how much $$$ they offer him. Sort of like James Cameron's attitude now towards Terminator: "it's in my rear view mirror." (Hey James, make another f***ing movie already.)
Imagine if Carpenter or Cameron were to go back to those franchises and all the hoopla that would occur, and then we'd end up with another Prometheus (egghn) or Alien: Covenant (ARRRRGGGH).
