Re: Add Belle & Sebastian for me
Tbh I think much of my aversion to Belle & Sebastian comes from their being too-self-consciously-by-half a "college" band aimed at young artsy/literary/budding-intellectials. They've definitely written good songs (then you've got your shitty shit like "Lazy Line Painter Jane" and "It Could Have Been a Brilliant Career") but it brings me back to two times in my life. College (really just the spring semester) and 2006-2007. Usually I remember only the good times from shitty stretches of life but Belle & Sebastian drives home how na´ve and just generally ####ed-up those times were.
Best release is Push Barman to Open Old Wounds. EP/singles collection that reflects everything positive about the group -- and a good bit that wasn't.
