I've been revisiting Mark Of The Mole recently and really digging it (there's a rumour that Phish is going to do The Mole Show for Halloween which is why I chose MotM specifically), as well as the other Mole albums. I had never heard Intermission before. But it might actually be the best music from the whole Mole saga. I've been really enjoying it.
I'm a big Tunes of Two Cities fan. I used "Serenade for Missy" in a high school project for a presentation once. That's a good memory.
The Big Bubble blows ass unfortunately, though they weren't trying to make a listenable album so I can't fault it too hard. I have a high tolerance for purposefully ugly music, and while the Big Bubble isn't so unlistenable that I can't get through the whole thing, the sound of the album is all the same (improvised vocals using pre-written lyrics that the band improvises on top of with the same palate of ugly synth sounds on every track) so just listening to one or two songs is really all you need to get the gist of it.
