You're making assumptions out of thin air

There's loads of jazz on ECM that is unbelievably complex and/or frentic (hell, Roscoe MItchell and Andrew Cyrille are on ECM). And the notion that ECM is full of "new age" jazz is just an unbelievable, tired and beaten cliche. There's loads of quiet and patient music released by that label that has nothing to do with the Scandinavian new age jazz approach (for instance, a Wadada Leo Smith and Vijay Iyer duo album from a couple years ago, which is closer to modern composition and 12-tone music than anything).
Moreover, Ronin generally sound nothing like ambient/new age jazz at all. I simply don't know what you're talking about. Their compositions are mostly based on minimalistic piano and/or bass pattern that flow into moments more reminiscent of classic 70's jazz rock than anything else.
