The first two Dragon Warriors were great at the time but in retrospect they're unenjoyably focussed on levelling up and accumulating gold to buy the upgraded weapons and armor you need. You had to gain a few levels to advance from one location to another without getting killed, but it took like twice as much XP to attain the next level (like from 1024 to gain, say, level five, and then to 2048 for level six. Obviously it wasn't literally exponential like that but it was close).
Dragon Warrior III and the following were much more sensible in experience points and much more forgiving in weapons and armor, and some of them had different character classes. All were a lot more story-based. Just really good games, and they hold up today.
Why is there such a push to get girls into STEM?
