Ah ok yeah I know that stuff. Don't think I've heard any of those albums all the way through but I feel like most big krautrock fans stumble upon it eventually. I should maybe try listening to the albums in full but they struck me as the type of thing I'd appreciate more than enjoy. I mean, those recordings are ridiculously groundbreaking and forward-looking and so different from everything else at the time, they make Velvet Underground sound like The Monkees. But they don't strike me as listening experiences I'd describe as "enjoyable"- pretty harrowing at times, actually.
Yeah these frustrating patterns inherent to the tech industry seem to exist from the top down. "Oversell and under-deliver" is actually a pretty polite way to put it- I call it lying, plain and simple, whether it's conscious or not (and 9 times out of 10, it's absolutely conscious because they comment on it and laugh about it- if you attend the right meetings you will witness that shit and it's disgusting). Part of it just seems to be par for the course for any thriving, cutthroat industry but like like most shitty business practices, tech seems to do it "better" (i.e. more commonly- and more blatantly) than everyone else. And yeah, it's always jarring when you become aware of certain coworkers' incompetence levels as you interact with them more and more, especially folks who are higher up
