Yeah, I definitely listened to both "Tubular Bells" and "Ommadawn" very very stoned. The former was always my favorite and I definitely hearing the caveman part for the first time being a definite WTF moment. In fact, my interpretation was that it was a man turning into a werewolf until I read about Oldfield's intention (similar to Mingus's "Pithecanthropus Erectus" I suppose). TBH I got tired of Oldfield pretty quickly though. Too clean and repetitive. Besides, if I'm in the mood for that type of music I'd much rather listen to something like "In Den Garten Pharaos" or "Durch Die Wuste" or something like that.
"When Virginia legalizes it I'll give it a go for sure."
Yay. Tread lightly though. Not just because of your history- predictably, now w/ legal recreational weed, the quality has gone through the roof and not all strains are kind on the ol' lungs. Still would ideally like to quit smoking sooner rather than later myself (and just stick to THC capsules). I still love smoking- not just the act and ritual w/ listening to music and all but there's a more euphoric response than there is w/ the capsules- but my body doesn't want it. I'm an old coot, Tabs my boy!
