FWIW here's my RYM review:
Believe the hype: this is absolutely up there with "The Room" in the awful and incompetent yet fascinating and infinitely watchable department. There are a couple clues to let you know that the filmmakers are in on the joke (like that random mime appearance) but for the most part, their intentions remain something of a mystery. There was no Cage cult when this was filmed so it's unclear why the folks in charge allowed him to deliver such a batshit crazy, seemingly largely improvised performance and generally run amok Brando style. Shit, he even uses Brando's "Missouri Breaks" device of slipping into and out of an accent from scene to scene for no apparent reason. Anyway, there's no point in trying to describe this thing further because my words won't do it justice. Bottom line is, if you like "The Room" and other fascinatingly and bizarrely awful films and/or if you have any tolerance for Cage whatsoever, you absolutely need to see this.
