My dad surprised me with an electric guitar for Christmas in 2004, but I could never teach myself how to play it (as I did a trap set). I felt like Bart Simpson in "The Otto Show":
"I wasn't good at it right away, so I quit."
"If something's hard to do then it's not worth doing."
Funny. But the sad thing is that I was not actually interested in learning a musical instrument at the time.
Times have changed. I recently picked up a Fender Squire bass guitar and small amp. I think it will be a good hobby for me, especially on those lonesome Sunday afternoons.
I don't know if I am ever going to get "good" on this thing or not, but it should be fun to learn how to play around it and jam.
I am a little over fourty now, but it is never too late to learn a new musical instrument.
