Anyway, speaking of "Ghost World", I've loved the film since it was released and have owned it on DVD for many years but never bothered reading the graphic novel until recently. Never been a huge Daniel Clowes fan but have been going through graphic novels that many folks consider essential lately- most recently, I finished both "Fun Home" and "The Dark Knight Returns" and really enjoyed both, especially the latter. Also plowed through all of Joe Matt's stuff, which actually seems similar to Clowes' in some ways, though Crumb is obviously his main influence (he even does a strip about it). Anyone who likes dark autobiographical stuff like Crumb or Peter Bagge should definitely check out Joe Matt's stuff (the "Poor Bastard" collection is the best place to start).
I digress but I did basically enjoy the "Ghost World" book, even if I prefer the movie by a fairly wide margin. Already knew that there was no Buscemi character but the humor is far drier and the book is generally less eventful. It's different enough from the film so that I can appreciate it as its own separate entity and the ending is pretty significantly different which definitely affected my final impression. But since you like the movie so much, you might wanna read the comic if you haven't already
