I'll put this here:
I kinda think Once Upon a Time in America is a bad movie. I mean, yeah, it's got De Niro and James Woods, and the kids' part is definitely strong, but there's so many problems with it. First, there's TWO rape scenes, when none would definitely be enough! Speaking of one of those, I don't understand Noodles raping the girl he's been in love with since he was a kid in the back of a limousine. Then he goes to the train station the next day to see her off? Why? Because he feels bad? And when he drives the car with all of them in it into the river? lol I don't understand his character at all. The "twist" at the end is also really unbelievable. Like, why would anyone play along with it? I'm a huge fan of some of Leone's other movies, but I don't get this one at all. Really long+Leone+De Niro+gangsters doesn't mean it's automatically a classic.
