I don't hate Nirvana as much as I've led people here to believe
Their music is fine. Say what I will about Cobain's character flaws, but the guy was actually nice and funny. Some of the music from that era was actually, you know, good. It was 1992 and I was a freshman in high school when we went to their concert. Hair metal had grown stagnant by that point. No, what I didn't like about the whole "Grunge" fad was how it became so popular for those bands, and DJs, and high school kids, to diss on heavy metal. You couldn't like both. And this didn't get really bad until '94. And speaking of that year, I hated how the public dealt with Cobain's death. Just how did committing suicide make him a martayr? Incidentally, back in the'90s, it was primarily thrash and power metal (and death metal) that I listened to, not hair metal.
Yeah, I remember getting called a "HESHER," and by band being called "butt rock," back in the day.
