About a month ago I transitioned to a new role at work which allows me to listen to music for most of the day. Depending on how busy I am, I can listen to 3-4 albums a day just at work. I listen via Youtube and work off this list (feel free to recommend shit as usual): https://rateyourmusic.com/list/hellaguru/why-havent-i-heard-this/
Aside from that, I basically have my headphones on whenever I'm out of the house and not hanging out w/ people. Actually don't listen to music w/ other folks much these days unless attending a concert counts. Anyway, when I'm on the bus, walking around, hiking and exploring etc by myself, my headphones are usually on. These days, if I'm sober, I'll listen to full albums and if I'm stoned, I usually go the shuffle route, which is a change from the past- used to only do shuffle while exercising. When I listen to music at home, it's usually on headphones while smoking on the back porch. But when I'm exercising, I one of those mini boom boxes you can plug an ipod directly into. Sound is surprisingly decent.
"I usually get stoned sitting on the floor of my bathroom"
LOL that doesn't sound like the practice of an "adult w/ annoying obligations". Does your girl give you shit about the smell?
"It's a lot of phone/laptop speakers"
Guess you could call that sad or pathetic but I'm basically in the same boat and it seems pretty standard these days.
"My girlfriend and I watch everything together. I haven't watched a movie alone in years, which is funny because I barely watched movies with other people for a long time before this (including going to the movies). We do 2 Netflix DVD.com discs at a time and usually watch them on the weekend. We'll watch whatever TV show we have going during the week, generally.
It can be a bit of a pain to coordinate movie watching with another person (she'll be too tired or I'll be too tired). Also, I torture her with my selections and have to throw her a bone sometimes and watch some sh*te romcom. (This past Monday she asked: "Is this another samurai movie?" as I popped in Kurosawa's Sanjuro.) In general, though, she is very tolerant and has gone through a lot of foreign/arthouse/very old movies with me. I can't complain too much. We keep a log of everything we've watched and are at about 220 films."
Except for the keeping a log part (very Trungy of you, brahski), this sounds pretty standard for living w/ a gf. This one the first gf you've lived with? Just be glad your girl doesn't constantly play w/ her phone and/or computer while a movie's on- my ex used to do that and it drove me nuts. Like, she wouldn't understand the appeal or even the *point* of classic films I'd show her and I'd be like "Well yeah, you didn't ####ing *watch* it".
I read for 30 minutes a day at work and 30 mins to an hour before I go to bed. Just finished "The Magic Christian" (disappointing), "Fun Home", "The Dark Knight Returns" (mentioned those 2 already) and started "Suttree" (hey Billdude- it's GOOD, you midnight melon mounter you)
