Lemon Demon - Spirit Phone (on very cool-looking pink candy vinyl)
Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain
Captain Beefheart - Clear Spot
Mike Oldfield - Incantations
Herbie Hancock- Maiden Voyage
Beach Boys - Smile Sessions
I got a new record player after my old player had been out of commission for over a year. so some record shopping was in order. Picked all these up and have been spinning them over the last week.
Weezer - Teal Album
It's dumb covers. You already know if you'd like this or not, but it's a fun listen.
Dream Theater - Live at Budokan
Damn, this live album kicks ass. Good job guys! while it's probably because he redid the vocals in the studio or something, LaBrie is in great form here and that's greatly appreciated. They play most of Train Of Thought and every songs is better live. The 6 Degrees songs improve live too. they turn Beyond This Life into a 19-minute shred-fest which is pretty entertaining. There are a handful of rarities on here too. Good live album!
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Yeah this is a step down. The title track is OK, but there aren't really many ideas in it are there? as far as side-length epics go A Change Of Seasons is vastly superior. The shorter tracks are all kind of middling, and do little to stick with me. Feeling pretty meh on this one.
Phish - Chicago 94 & Live At The Roxy
picked these box-sets up for cheap recently. Both are top-shelf Phish. Chicago 94 in particular would make for a fantastic intro to the band. They're really firing on all cylinders during these shows.
