Definitely among the best of the synth pop albums/comps I've been listening to at work lately. TBH the PSB probably made more of an impression. The best of the bunch is probably the OMD album, which is possibly the best synth pop album I've heard so far. Most of the stuff I tend to favor actually seems to be the *less* artsy (generally like my synth pop simple and catchy without much ambition beyond that) but the OMD album is a major exception. Very unique and sophisticated, especially for 1981 (it sounds like it could have come out at least a decade later). Guess I'll have to do "Dazzle Ships" which Patrick Lim often called his favorite album of all time (and he constantly tried to get me to listen to it but I never did because I'm an asshole)
"$80 for a used CD or $16 for a new LP."
Oh yeah a no brainer for sure. Doesn't surprise me much- have noticed lost of vinyl reissues of classic jazz slabs at one of my local bookstores but again, I thought that album in particular was still a rarity.
Yeah you'll have to watch "Lebowski" again for no other reason than because it sounds like you missed the fact that Moore was nude. It's really quick, but she flies over The Dude's head wearing nothing but a harness as she splatters paint down on an oversized canvas Pollock style. Nice touch
