Richard was dope
Even better than when I saw him at Hardly Strictly several years ago. I mean, The Fillmore is always fun and the legacy usually seems to energize the performers and he was no exception. Played a lot of classics, even old Fairport songs including "Genesis Hall", which was a treat for me, not really being familiar w/ his solo stuff (my dad's a big fan- I took him as a late Xmas present). And as a soloist, he's ####ing incredible. Between getting to see him and also Robin Trower *also* at The Fillmore not too long ago *and* Fripp w/ Crimson at The Warfield before that, I'm checking a lot of "best living guitarists" boxes w/o really going to shows very often.
But anyway, if you're a Richard Thompson fan and have a chance to see him, do it. He doesn't charge much and puts on a killer show.
