is another one of those movies with a much stronger first half. Hoffman is legitimately hilarious during all of the Mrs. Robinson stuff. I guess there’s multiple ways to read the second half of it and his relationship with the daughter. If you take it as them being desperate to find happiness any way they can and then realizing at the end that they messed up it’s very well done. If you think they’re actually in love, it...kinda stinks.
I always wondered why they repeated songs. What, no “I am a Rock?” Then again, maybe that makes sense thematically too.
