Spot on about Inception too. Itís a really good idea and some of the visuals are wild, but the characterization is so bland. I can barely think of any adjectives at all to describe JGL and Tom Hardyís characters in it. And who cares about Cillian Murphy and his relationship with his dad? And whose dreams are that linear anyway? He shouldíve just went bonzo-gonzo with it.
The French Connection is the one Iím borderline on this week. I could do with a re-watch, but besides the chase scene I was definitely underwhelmed. The idea of Gene Hackman as that character is better in my head than it is onscreen. The ending is really weird for sure.
Iíll stick up for The Usual Suspects. Like The Sixth Sense, it lives or dies by its twist, but they both nail it, imo. Itís not as good as its ranking on imdb, though!
