Indian Removal Act

In Florida, many Seminoles refused to move following the Passage of the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the subsequent signing of the Treaty of Payne's Landing in 1834. Between 1835 and 1842, the United States waged a bloody campaign against them, ultimately defeating the Seminoles in what became known as the Second Seminole War. Could the Cherokees have faced a similar outcome had they refused to leave Georgia?
