On the one hand, if and when Iran develops a deliverable nuke, they will probably deploy it on Israel, surely provoking the US to retaliate, thus likely stirring up a devastating nuclear WW3 for everyone.

On the other, if we totally neutralize Iran's nuclear capability now, there are two or more potential outcomes:

1. Some 4th party might step in and escalate the situation into a devastating nuclear WW3 for everyone.

... or ...

2. The Israel/Iran "conflagration" subsides, and the citizens of Iran might figure out some way to bring about regime change.

I realize that my prognosis is probably no better than that of the average bloke on the street, for I am not really an authority on war and likely outcome, and I certainly would entertain alternative ideas.

Ultimately, WW3 is destined to come about because the odds of perpetual restraint and/or total nuclear disarmament are nil.

So, we must be prepared at all times to bend over, put our heads between our legs, and kiss our butts goodbye.
