Americans hating Americans is nothing new, although I'd certainly agree that Trump's terms in office have seen the flames fanned high. The cultural divisions are probably as bad or worse than they've ever been, and I think the Union as currently constituted has no more than 20-30 years left, tops.

But I'd argue that Trump is less a cause than he is a symptom.
