The Federal slice of that is around 70%.
So the Federal government pays around $630 billion toward Medicaid every year, with the States picking up the other $270 billion.
The Big Beautiful Bill cuts Medicaid funding by $880 billion OVER THE NEXT DECADE.
So that's an average of $88 billion a year.
So the Federal expenditure would go from $630 billion a year to $542 billion a year.
And the TOTAL expenditure would go from $900 billion a year to $812 billion a year.
That's a reduction of about 9.8% per year spent on Medicaid.
And those cuts will (in theory) come from people who are getting Medicaid who don't deserve it, and from waste and unnecessary bureaucracy.
You're welcome.
