So egg price seems like a bad economic indicator.
Gas price is important. Most goods are transported using gas. Low gas prices help improve our overall economy.
The DOW is another good indicator.
If I was doing an economic report, I would add:
1) National debt vs gdp https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debt-to-GDP_ratio
2) Total homeless legal citizens.
3) Total weight of all trees and plants in USA.
