on here insisted that I worked for the County School system...LOL), I was part of
the County's Emergency Response "team".
I was also part of Emergency Response when I was a Staff Sergeant in the Army
National Guard.
The "team" included representatives from the relevant County and local Departments
(the County Police, the State Police, Fire, EMS, the Army National Guard, VDOT, etc.
We were activated twice for Hurricane response.
NOWHERE in our immediate disaster response did you find FEMA.
That's because FEMA does NOT provide IMMEDIATE disaster response.
That is the responsibility of the LOCAL disaster response teams.
FEMA doesn't show up until days later, if needed.
