"Majority of Americans?" Um...no.
There are about 347.5 million Americans. Of those, approximately 262 million are eligible to vote. Of those, about 156.3 million voted in the 2024 presidential election. Donald Trump garnered 77,303,573 of those votes, winning with a 49.8% plurality of the votes cast, constituting 31.6% of the voting-eligible population. Far from "the majority of Americans" you asserted... It's long past time the US switched to ranked choice voting.
