First, an outgoing Administration should never be allowed to interfere with the governance of a duly elected incoming administration based on a coordinated smear campaign financed in part by the losing candidate. That goes for Republicans and Democrats. I despise Congressional hearings almost as much as I despise Special Counsel investigations. (I love you Kabuki Theatre characterization.)

The matter is serious, however, and I think the grand journey approach is the most apolitical pathway to get to the bottom of the matter. Lawfare is an affront to the Constitution and must be limited in the future.
