1st up though, I'm not Mondo.
2ndly, I look at things a little different. I'll use West Va as an example. A lot of people look down their nose at West Va, and with reason. West Va has a slew of problems, social, drug-opioids, economic, among other things. But it is also a beautiful state. While you couldn't pay me to live in Charleston(I'll make money anywhere), locations west and northwest are priceless. I can find places where me and my puppies can isolate ourselves and enjoy a few day break. Hard to find that now in the Carolinas and Ohio.
You are right, dysfunction and ignorance are worldwide. But there a lot of good things and places out there to find.
