Fizzy soda pop's not as big a thing in the drinks marketplace in Japan as in the US, though. Tea, juice-based drinks, and various hydration-oriented drinks (Pocari Sweat!) are bigger. And beer...lots and lots of beer.

I tend to drink whiskey neat. I've largely moved away from Scotch whiskies (except for some Ardbeg bottlings), and from bourbons to rye...along with Japanese whiskies like Nikka Coffey Grain, Suntory Hibiki 21, etc. There's a Suntory Yamazaki 25 year old available right now, but it's stupid expensive and I'm not sure I have the palate to properly appreciate why.
