Most tariff hikes have just recently kicked in, but there has been some effect already.
That effect will increase as the pipeline clears of existing in-country stock. This is absolutely inevitable: companies will only be able (or even willing) to absorb these costs for a short time. Because the administration is extremely inconsistent in its approach, changing plans on a regular basis, importers will find it difficult to properly plan to minimize consumer price impact, and will largely play it safe by simply raising prices.
