I don’t mind paying federal income tax for basic government functions as enumerated in the Constitution. Why are we being told part of those taxes must be invested in a private company? We can make that decision on our own.

The federal government is $37 trillion in debt. Even if it was Constitutional, we have no money to invest.

Additionally, politicians picking winners, subsidizing favored firms, and now grabbing government ownership stakes create unnecessary market distortions. This is nuts.

Also, acting as both shareholder and regulator generates conflicts of interest on an epic scale. Will the federal government regulate Intel as forcefully as the company's competitors?

Trump should stop channeling his inner Mamdani. Seizing the means of production has never worked and will create a firestorm of conflict and market disruption that will not end well for taxpayers or consumers.
