But although this thread may not be a good place to do it, let's unpack that context. China building automobile factories in Mexico would obviously be a long-term play, and one equally obviously aimed at the US-dominated North American market. Would it not be likely that China is looking beyond the Trump tenure in office, towards a future in which the tariff situation has returned to something more-or-less like the pre-Trump status quo? Those plants might not even be producing cars until then. Other than as simply a component of a greater trade war with China, it's hard to see where the "bloodbath" comes from.
